BEE STING OF THE CORNEA

GENERAL
Occurs when the toothed lancet of the stinging apparatus penetrates the cornea. Can cause serious eye pain and should be treated immediately by an Optometrist.

Bee stings of the eye can cause serious side effects if person is allergic to bee stings.

OCULAR SIDE EFFECTS & SYMPTOMS
  • LID... edema
  • CONJUN... hemorrhage, chemosis, hyperemia
  • CORNEA... abscess, keratitis
  • LACRIMAL... lacrimation
  • IRIS... depigmentation, iridoplegia, iritis
