If an optometrist does a glaucoma test, what other differences are there?

How much can an optometrist overcharge before you can file a claim?

I recently visited my optometrist for my yearly exam and walked out the door paying $160 for 6 months of Proclear Toric lenses (in addition to numerous other fees). I am insured through VSP.

I found the same lenses selling at numerous online retailers for $45-$50/box (so a 6-month supply would cost $100).

Shouldnt my insurance have covered some of this cost? Can I make a fuss next time over this obvious overhead?

What’s the difference between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist?

The questions asked is: I was wondering what the difference is between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist? I have my eyes checked annually by an optometrist but was wondering if I should see an ophthalmologist. Are ophthalmologists more skilled or more specialized? Should one see one regularly or just if you suspect there’s a problem?I know this sounds like a dumb question but I’m getter older and I know that my eyes aren’t what they used to be so I was wondering if they require extra care that an optometrist can’t provide.

So what’s the difference between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist?

Optometrist attend a four optometry program after college where they specialize in treating and diagnosing eye diseases. Ophthalmologist attend a four year medical school after college. For the majority of that time ophthalmologist study the body in general and not the eyes. After the medical school ophthalmologist attend a residence training program.

What to do about contact lenses being mixed up?

Laugh alot! asked:

I took my contact lenses out of my eyes tonight and cleaned them, then I put a the left contact in the left container, and then put the right contact in the left container, so they were both floating around and I realized there were two. I quickly scooped one out and put it in the right side. I have Night & Day Contact lenses, and my prescription is the same on both sides (-.150) Or something, what do I do?

What are the most natural looking brown contact lenses?

MLRatyahoo asked:

I have light green eyes, but I’d like to wear non-perscription brown colored contact lenses, just every now and then for a different kind of look. But opaque lenses are usually SO unnatural looking. Especially the ones that try and replicate natural iris lines/specles, etc. (it doesn’t matter to me if they have an iris pattern or not—I just want them to look natural.)

So what brand of brown contact lenses would you reccommend for light eyes?

What brand of colored contact lenses look most realistic for dark eyes?

I’ve seen some colored contact lenses on people with dark eyes and while they look nice from far away, when you get close, they look really fake. Is there a brand that blends the actual eye color better with the contact lenses color to look more natural and realistic?
