Video of my successful Lasik eye surgery. I was 26 when I did this. No pain, no halo, no complications. I now have 20/20 vision.

I probably won’t even consider doing lasik laser surgery. This type of surgery is still new. By the way, thanks for the information.

Are you serious… All you have to know about UV light is that it is harmful to us.

Thank you for making the right decision. Unlike you, many will not listen, and will make the mistake of listening to a Lying LASIK Doctor who will spend more time telling them the “pros” then the “cons.” The eager patient, ready to get out of contacts, will gladly fork out $5k and some, in fact many, will be ruined for life. Worse yet, the FDA still is saying only 142 victims have been ruined from LASIK when it’s more like 600,000 Americans. Truth be told.

Meh, if anyone checks around you will find that dkantis makes up BS lasik statistics and then spams them on every single thing regarding lasik on youtube. It’s a joke really. Check out real statistics and then decide for yourself.

@dkantis: thanks for the stats. I think I’ve pretty much made up my mind that I won’t be getting LASIK (or any other non-essential surgery) . I’m disturbed most by the fact that the flap never heals and there is always the risk of it being dislodged. Also at my age presbyopia looms and it would be stupid for me to have LASIK and still have to wear spectacles (and not be able to wear contacts),

New research shows that every Laser used for LASEK, LASIK, and PRK now have long term problems from the UV LIGHT causing cell mutation under the FLAP and further aging the eye, accelerating cataracts, while exponentially causing ECTASIA. Check out: FDA LASIK (youtube). Or. LASIKNEWSWIRE. Website. Or. LIFEAFTERLASIK. Truth be told, all of us were lied to by every LASIK doctor in America, who put their love for MONEY first and our HEALTH last. Sorry to tell you the truth……………..

Would you do LASIK if you knew the TRUE SUCCESS RATES?

1st Year Post LASIK: 88% success rates.
2nd Year Post LASIK: 65% success rates.
3rd Year Post LASIK: 50% success rates.
4th Year Post LASIK: 45% success rates.
5th Year Post LASIK: 40% success rates.
6th Year Post LASIK: 40% success rates.
7th+Year Post LASIK: Below 40%success rate.

Will you be one of the “lucky ones” that can last 10+ years without contacts or glasses?

This has a 95% success rate but over 12 million people did it. Do the maths…
I don’t think it’s worth risking getting blind or having any other issues just to look good. Should just stick with lenses or glasses really…

I was surprised at the amount of blood after the microkeratome was used. I guess this is due to the pressure bursting capillaries in the sclera.
My prescription is +4.5 (hypermetropia) and the results don’t seem to be as good as for myopia, so I’ll wait until I can be 100% sure of an improvement.
Thanks for posting – interesting to see the op being done.

Dkantis. It’s an elective procedure. No one puts a gun to your head and tells you to get it done. You read the risks, you sign the waiver. There are risks with all surgery. The truth is that lasik is safe and effective for over 95% of patients. I have no sympathy for those who trust their eyes to discount laser vison centers and then have the nerve to complain about bad results. Do your homework. Pick a good surgeon. Pick a good center. Make sure it’s an FDA approved laser.

I had LASIK performed on both eyes, May 2002, as did two people that I know well. We were not put to sleep, local anesthetic, I recall I took an anti-anxiety pill of some sort. Nearly seven years later and no complications from any of us. My eyesight went from 20-400 to 20-15. It was the best $2200 investment I have ever made in my life. Cheers, PG.
