As a high school junior, I’m not completely sure about what career path to pursue, but I have given some consideration to optometry. What are some schools that have good optometry programs?

First, you need to worry about getting into undergraduate college before focusing on optometry graduate school. However, if you know you would like to study in a specific state, and that state has an optometry program that puts special emphasis on state residents, it might make sense to pick an undergraduate college in that state. For example, Berkeley’s optometry program is through the University of California system, and is more likely to accept CA residents. You could apply for residence while in undergrad, and also take advantage of the lower tuition rates that will be made available to you once at Berkeley.

As for optometry school rankings, I have checked and there really isn’t one. The schools are all part of a larger organization, and all tell applicants not to rely on any list they may see. They want you to find the school that fits you best.
