An episodic disturbance of consciousness during which generalized convulsions may occur. Epilepsy is due to many causes.

OCULAR SIDE EFFECTS & SYMPTOMS

  • LID... vertical excursions of upper lid, horizontal movements
  • CORNEA... absent reflex
  • IRIS... miosis and absent reflexes during attack
  • RETINA... narrow vessels, distended veins
  • OPTIC... hypermia, atrophy (myoclonic epilepsy)
